Halloween at Home!

Treat your pet at home this Halloween!

Courtesy of Covid-19, trick-or-treating may be off limits for many of us this year. But looking on the bright side, our pets might prefer it!

Also, there's nothing to say that Halloween can't be enjoyed indoors with the other members of your household...and of course, your beloved pets!

It's time to get baking. Did you know that with some simple ingredients, you can concoct convenient, healthy and delicious treats for your dog? Let's take a closer look...

Pumpkin Yoghurt Frozen Treats

This great and simple recipe will keep your dog cool in the summer, and keep their taste buds satisfied as you indulge in your own Halloween treats. You’ll need 245g of non-fat plain yoghurt and 115g of pumpkin puree, plus a little water if necessary.

Just put the mixture in the freezer for a few hours and your snacks are ready to be enjoyed. View the full Pumpkin Yoghurt Frozen Treats recipe on BorrowMyDoggy’s website, where you’ll also find a handy instructional video.

Pumpkin ‘Pup’cakes

For Pumpkin Pupcakes, you’ll need 30g of brown rice flour, 130g pumpkin puree, an egg, 4 seaweed sheets, a teaspoon of cinnamon and some water.

The cakes are a doddle to make. Just blend the mixture together and pop into the microwave for 1 minute. As above, view the full Pumpkin Pupcakes recipe, directions and instructional video on BorrowMyDoggy’s website.

Just be careful not to overfeed!

Treats are delicious and a great way to show your dog how much they mean to you. To make sure they stay at a healthy weight during periods of excess snacking, try adjusting their food intake or treating them to some additional exercise.
